The Oscar nominations were announced this morning in LA. You can find the entire list of nominees here. The nominees for the big one - best picture - are:
I've seen only
No Country . . ., so I won't begin to offer opinions. I am sort of surprised by the awards season showing of
Atonement, given the luke warm reviews I read when it first came out. But it won a Golden Globe and has been nominated for a
BAFTA best picture as well, so what do I know. I am a little suspicious because it's the one best picture nominee missing from the best directory category, replaced by the French film
The Diving Bell and the Butterfly. I've never really understood how that could work, but what do I know?
